The Pump House Manifesto for Covid 19
– Updated September 2020
Thank you for taking the time to read our manifesto.
If you have found yourselves here, we appreciate that it is out of goodwill, with the intention of planning to visit us or are currently waiting to be seated.
The Pump House, including the owners and some of our team have been here for 13 years and we are currently finding our way through a whole new operational procedure.
The pandemic and everything associated with it has not only given us pause for thought, it has thrown us more challenges than we would have ever imagined.
With all the new restrictions in place and by deducing from what we have already learnt, we know that things are going to be different and of the ongoing mountain of which we still need to climb.
Therefore, we have taken some time to revaluate our business and have set out our guidelines below:
If you have symptoms of Covid 19 or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms, please do not visit us.
All guests are required by law to sign in for track and trace, we have QR codes around the building and on the home page of our website.
Wear a mask at all times unless seated.
Please keep within the allocated areas and follow signage & pathways to keep yourselves and others safe.
Do not approach the bar or leave your table to get up and walk around except when visiting the bathrooms, upon entry or exit.
We have hand sanitisers in all high traffic areas, please use them.
We will have a key entry system for our bathrooms which are only for guests with an active reservation.
We will have Perspex screens at till points which can only be accessed by staff.
Guests without a valid reservation will not be permitted for eating or drinking in to support the NHS track and trace.
Our staff are working extremely hard in a very challenging environment, we will do everything in our power to ensure their safety.
Please be kind and observant.
Visiting us for eating/ drinking in
Inside tables for either food or drinks must be booked in advance through our online booking tool, for this we use ResDiary – Reservations – Please read our updated manifesto
Outside tables will be made available for walk ins and cannot be booked in advance, there are QR codes in all areas to support track and trace.
We have a designated host each day to assist with booking management and walk ins.
Only guests from one household or social bubble will be permitted on each table and our maximum table size is 6.
All tables have been measured and spaced to comply with social distancing. Do not attempt to move chairs or tables.
Your booking confirmation will provide your allocated table number and we are unable to change tables or locations once booked.
If you have booked for inside and would like a table outside, you are welcome to join the walk in queue and be seated outside. This will then be your new location and the inside table will be reopened for a new reservation.
Full name and contact details for each guest will be required, these can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or scanned in using the QR code.
Our menu is available online via our website and will need to be perused ahead of ordering.
The menu on our website is our only menu and items are subject to availability, we appreciate your patience as we enter a whole new way of working.
Please place your order with your dedicated server.
Dining tables will be allocated for 2 hours and must be vacated promptly.
Whilst dining please do not leave your table for anything other than arrival, departure and use of the bathrooms.
Please keep a close eye on younger children to ensure they adhere to social distancing.
We will only be able to accept card payments.
Parties, groups and events
We are not accepting any reservations for parties or groups at present.
We are looking at our event spaces and will be updating our capacity and offerings for these soon.
Any existing reservations will be discussed on an individual case basis.
Our deli food and sandwiches are still available for takeaway daily. However whilst we work on our new table service offering, we are currently focusing solely on this and hope to reintroduce takeaways later. Watch this space.
Our super shiny, new deli is open every day and we cannot wait to show it off!
Please adhere to social distancing guidelines once inside, as with the main dining area we will have
Signage for managing flow and physical distancing along with Perspex screens at the till point.
We are unable to permit guests using our shop to use our bathrooms at present.
Produce from our shop is not for consumption at our tables.
Thank you to everyone we know, work, play, serve, drink with and love wholeheartedly
Whilst we all want to go to the pub like we used to, we all understand that we are currently in the throes of a pandemic and what we used to do is no longer an option.
As an independent business, adaptation (along with the backing of our staff, community and guests) is imperative to our survival.
We sincerely appreciate the support and cooperation of everyone wishing to visit us in extraordinary times.
We can’t wait to see you all!
Love and best wishes,
The Pump House team
